kate moss x topshop wishlist

30 Apr

kate moss x topshopThe ever so stylish supermodel, Kate Moss is back with her second collection for Topshop, which launched this morning (her first collaboration with the retailer was in 2007)!  Just like the Isabel Marant x H&M launch from Fall, items will definitely sell out in record time.  You’ll want to make your way over to a Topshop retail location or get online STAT to scoop up one (or more!) of these iconic pieces before they are gone.  You can also find the collection at Net-A-Porter.  Kate Moss’s boho meets edgy sensibility comes through in each design, and with Topshop’s competitive price points we can all have a little bit of the uber stylish Kate Moss hanging in our closet.  On my wishlist…

1. Floral Chiffon Maxi Dress, $360 // 2. Fringe Leather Jacket, $380 // 3. Aztec Print Sundress, $120 // 4. Lame’ Bias Cut Maxi Dress $590 // 5. Scallop Trim Cami, $76 // 6. Shadow Stripe Print Jumpsuit, $190 // 7. Suede Runner Shorts, $150

metallic home pic

I have no idea where i am going in this outfit but I hope it’s somewhere fabulous, and hope that time is sometime soon.  I’ve been obsessed with it since the try on session and instagram snap over a month ago.  Spring is a buzzing here in NYC and as far as seasonal trends go, metallic is high up on the list of must-haves. Who says sparkle is just for the holiday season?  Rules are made to be broken, clearly.  The best part about this ensemble is not the mere fact that I was able to find a coordinated top and bottom in the coveted silver metallic color.  It’s that both of these pieces from H&M, together were $65!!!  I swear this may be the best investment I’ve ever made.  I appreciate a luxury item no less then the next person, but when finding exactly what I want for a steal – you can sign me right up, STAT!  The weather is warming here in NYC and this head-to-toe look is begging for a night out, along with other metallics I found on the interweb like this rose gold option from Topshop, an effortless high-low maxi dress from Alice & Olivia, this wear-with-everything cami by Parker, and this green (be still my heart) cropped, embroidered beaut from Zara.

motoring into spring

3 Mar

spring inspoI am counting down the seconds till spring for a multitude of reasons.  First and foremost, this NYC winter has gotten the best of me and despite my hardcore love of this amazing and wondrous city, I’m pissed off at the weather patterns.  The novelty of snow is appreciated, but when occurring weekly, it gets old really fast.  It’s safe to assume I’m over it.  With that said, I’m super excited to shed my heavy winter-wear and embrace the fashions of spring  which includes lighter jackets and more skin exposure.  I’m inspired by the above look and would love to replicate it when the temperature creeps up.  I don’t usually wear short necklaces, but am feeling this choker from Zara.  And a hint of a lace bra through the double breasted blazer is OH-so-sexy, bringing femininity and softness to the overall menswear inspired look.  Adios sweaters and boots!  Don’t let the door kick you in the ass on your way out!

trench coat A forever fashion staple, trench coats have been around for eternity.  Which is why it’s a good idea to keep one on rotation in your closet since season after season, the classic silhouette proves to stand the test of time.  Whether your look is boho, edgy, polished, etc., a trench works well with any particular style and keeps you just the right amount of warm on cooler spring days.  The interweb is bursting with newness from low to high price points so now is the time to get on it!  Here’s an edit of some current faves for your shopping pleasure.  Happiest, happy weekend!  See you on the flip side.  xx jenny

walking on the wild side

17 Feb

649765_mainIt’s not uncommon to find a clothing item you love, but veto purchasing it because you’re stumped on what to wear it with.  We tend to get stuck inside our style boxes, making it impossible to envision anything outside of them.  And then we wind up wearing the black version, envious of the person who had the courage to take a chance on the leopard print.  Playing it safe can land you in a fashion funk, wondering why there is no excitement in your wardrobe.  And most of the time, the riskier version works just as well as the basic.  I recommend adding a few less predictable items to your closet for days when you want to embrace your daring side.  This River Island sweatshirt can be found in solid colors anywhere and it’d probably get way more mileage if you went that route, but today why not give the animal print a-go. Sometimes we all need to take a walk on the wild side.  Happy Monday!  xx

Have an item that you’re confused on how to wear?  Send it my way at yoursoulstyle@gmail.com so I can feature a style post that will help you out!

sexy sweats

sexy sweats 2I put this photo on instagram over the weekend and after a friend commented that she “must own these pants”, along with another chiming in, “agreed”, I decided to put together a post.  Sweatpants are now a staple in my wardrobe since traditional silhouettes have evolved to slimmer and more fashion-forward fits.  While I understand that weekend days are a time to kick back, there is no reason why you can’t be comfortable and still look good!  The ones I’m wearing are H&M from last season with limited sizes left, but here’s a few current styles that will surely do the trick.

splurge vs. steal: denim

31 Jan

spring denimI have been gushing about GAP boyfriend jeans for a while now, like we discussed here.  Needless to say, I have literally not taken them off my body ALL WINTER LONG!  It’s just too easy to grab them from my closet chair in the morning when one eye is half open and I need to throw together a comfortable and easygoing ensemble.  With spring close by (thank god!), I’m looking for my next go-to pair and after perusing the likes of net-a-porter and shopbop where designer styles average around $200, landed myself right back at GAP coveting these at $69.95 each.  In case you need help with the math here, that’s basically three pairs for the price of one!  For real.  Mega steal, no?  These will definitely become closet staples in my spring wardrobe so don’t be surprised when you spot me here wearing all three as such…

Happy shopping & weekend! xx jenny

shear genius

6 Jan

tumblr_mxi3s8Iui21rm66sdo1_1280Although it’s a brand new year, we still have three looooong months of cold weather ahead of us.  I’m inspired by this Isabel Marant’ish look and loving obsessing over the shearling coat!  This ensemble simultaneously reads edgy, bohemian and cozy which is a mega win in my book!

Style Tip:  Wear a sexy tank underneath the sweatshirt to easily transform this winter outfit from day to night.  Plus, it will give you an extra layer of warmth!

PS: Does anyone know who makes the above coat???  I can’t find it on the interweb and need it in my life.  I’m assuming it’s a vintage one-of-a-kind.  Confessions of a shopaholic!  Happy Monday!  xx jenny

shiny happy people

20 Nov

shiny happy peopleI’m a total sucker for anything with holiday bling, but there’s only a small window of “appropriate” time to wear it (think now through January).  With thanksgiving around the corner – peak season for glitz and glam is about to pop off.  I can already hear the jingle bells jingling (literally).  Here are a few cute and affordable sparkly options, each under $100!  No need to break the bank on seasonal styles with little wearability.  One or two items in your closet will suffice to pull a holiday party ensemble together in a snap.

Style tip:  Save your pennies for the classics!
